Everything in the Beginner Investors section is educational only. We don't give financial advice, recommend specific investments, or guarantee any returns.
What we DO
- Explain investing concepts in plain language
- Show illustrative math with simplified assumptions
- Help you build intuition for risk, time, and patience
- Provide tools that compute what-if scenarios for learning
- Curate beginner-friendly definitions and lessons
What we NEVER do
- Recommend a specific stock, ETF, fund, or platform — by name or by hint
- Promise any rate of return
- Tell you when to buy or sell
- Show live market data or real prices
- Allow trading or any kind of money transaction
- Replace what a licensed financial advisor or accountant does for you
About our calculators and simulations
Our tools use simplified math for learning. Real markets are messier:
- Returns aren't guaranteed. Historical averages are useful for visualisation but the future is unknown.
- Costs matter.Real investing has fees, taxes, and broker costs we don't model fully.
- Inflation varies. Our 2-3% default is healthy-economy average; reality bounces around.
- Risk is real. Markets can drop 30-50% in crashes. Time horizon and emotional control are how investors survive them.
About the Fake Portfolio Sandbox (when built)
The sandbox uses education chips, not euros. It simulates abstract asset categories — not specific funds. No real trading. No real data feeds. It exists to teach the FEELING of market swings and the value of patience.

Before any real investing decision — opening a brokerage account, buying real funds, or committing significant money — please:
- Speak with a licensed financial advisor in your country
- Or at minimum, talk it through with a trusted family member or friend who has experience
- Read about your country's investor protection rules (in NL: AFM.nl)
About kids using this section
The Investors section is written for adults — typically 18+ who are just starting. The Kids section at /play is designed specifically for ages 7-12 with stricter content and privacy protections.
Our principles
We believe financial literacy is a right, not a luxury. We've committed to building education-only — forever. No affiliate broker links. No paid stock picks. No trading game disguised as learning.
If we ever change that — we will tell you, prominently, before anything else changes.
